Surfware, Inc. is pleased
to announce that their new product, SURFCAM 2D Free, began shipping to
registered users on December 4th. SURFCAM 2D Free manufacturing
software is a complete CAD/CAM system, offering IGES-in, DWG-in and DXF-in
translators, 2-axis pocketing, drilling and contouring capabilities,
integrated NC verify, an NC editor, basic DNC (direct numeric control) and
a selection of standard posts. You can get detailed product

If you have not already registered for
your free software, you can do so at www.surfware.com.

The software is freely
distributed via the SURFCAM website, the only requirements being that you
have a valid email address and provide basic company information when
registering. After registering you will be given the option to download the
software directly from the SURFCAM website or you can request to have
the software sent to you on CD. Additional posts, training and support
for the new SURFCAM 2D FREE product can be purchased through the SURFCAM
dealer network.
The product that is
shipping will run for 14-days in demo mode which limits
toolpath verification and restricts G-code output creation. Once
you install the 2D Free License File, that will be emailed to you upon
registration, you may run the product with full functionality for
60 days. At the end of the 60-day period you can renew your
registration, free of charge.
