Bharat Fritz Werner (BFW) has acquired Proteck Machinery’s turning business, last month to expand its product range and capability. BFW, a ? 850-crore company, caters to a range of industrial sectors including automobile and automobile components, defence, aerospace, railways and energy.
BFW is the flagship company of the diversified Kothari Group and is an established player in milling and the acquisition fills a gap as Proteck brings expertise in turning.
Mr Ravi Raghavan, CEO, BFW, said the acquisition is effective from April 1 and brings in a business potential of about ?120 crore with ability to go up to ?250 crore in the next three years. BFW will target growth with focus on making high-end, multi-functional machines.
BFW’s German subsidiary Matec makes high-tech machining centres giving it global reach to milling markets.
