Cadem is India’s leading provider of CNC productivity solutions for the manufacturing industry. Its range of industrial products for CNC software are enabling shop floors to improve the productivity of their CNC machines. Many of India’s best known CNC shop floors use the products. Cadem’s products are used in 16 countries, in four languages. Premier CNC machine tool manufacturing companies endorse and recommend Cadem’s software to their customers.

The 25-year-old company focuses on MAN, MACHINE and MATERIAL. It delivers products which are aimed at reducing the waste in the shopfloor. “Our products reduce ignorance cost of poorly skilled men, machine down and cycle time for material and that increases productivity. Our 18-member team constantly strives to help increase profitability for the end users,” Director of the company, Mr D Srihari said while speaking to CNCTimes at IMTEX 2015.

Elaborating on the company’s strategy, Mr Srihari said that earlier they used to sell the products on their own and now “After some time, we found that the many pockets of industrial development were coming up in far flung places and having exclusive sales persons in every place was not viable. Then we decided to change our strategy, first we tied up with CNC machine tool OEMs as our channel partners who used to introduce our products to the customers while selecting machines and the second was to appoint dealers across India who had full knowledge of CNC industry as well as CNC machining. We also have some sales happening through online these days,” Mr Srihari said.

At the IMTEX, the company has launched two products, the first being web-based wireless CNC machine productivity tracking system called as LEANworks. “The other thing which we launched at the exhibition is Multimedia CNC Machine simulators - doNC that can create a CNC operator in one day. Today, everybody talks about skills and operating CNC machine is a skill. There is a need to develop a safe method to acquire this skill at affordable costs. CNC trainers are there but there is no standardised industry approved training material, so we developed Multimedia CNC Machine simulators which are sold for a mere Rs.60000,” he said and added Cadem has upgraded its flagship products CAPSturn and CAPSmill software.  CAPSturn and CAPSmill are not just CNC programming software, it is a Cycle-time reduction software. It shows complete horoscope of the machining operations, the tools, power, scrap quantity, scrap value, 100% machining time and finally profitability of a part. This has been our new launch at this IMTEX,” Mr Srihari said.

“India is a good market for CNC software. At such exhibitions, we try and reach out to end users and also attract new OEMs and more resellers.” On the current market condition, Mr Srihari said that as far as machine tools industry is concerned, there is no great step up in the market. “Intention and willingness is there, but we can’t see anyone taking a great step forward. The need is appreciable and we have to struggle to hold the bottom-line. Secondly, the customers have also evolved and they come prepared at every exhibition. They know as to what exactly they want which was not the case earlier. Today, time has become very important and every buyer knows our competitors well. Buyers are ahead of sellers today,” Mr Srihari said.

Asked whether Indian market is price sensitive, the he replied in the negative and said the customers are willing to buy as long they see the value for their money. About Cadem’s vision in the next 5 years, Mr Srihari said the company’s focus will remain on three Ms—Man, Machine and Material.

“We will be working more on skills development, as we see a huge potential and volume. We are uniquely placed to deliver this, CADEM is developer of CNC software unlike all others you see here at IMTEX are mere box pushers. Though revenue is difficult to predict, but we are certainly looking for good growth,” Mr Srihari concluded.
