SCHUNK, the competence leader for clamping technology and gripping systems, has developed the modularly designed ECM controller especially for electrically driven gripping and rotary modules with an input voltage of 24 V or 48 V. Equipped with standardized plug connections, it can be quickly and easily connected. Control is available via Profibus (up to 12 Mbit/s) or CAN-Bus (up to 1 Mbit/s).
For commissioning and parameterization via PC with the SCHUNK Motion Tool, the ECM has a USB device connection. Alternatively it can also be put into operation in seconds without connecting a programming device. To do this, a USB stick can be parameterized and addressing is done manually via an easily configurable rotary encoding switch. Initial module movements can be realized manually via a DIP switch.
The ECM is also equipped with an LED and 7-segment display for status display and error analysis. It also comes optionally with four digital inputs and outputs. It is suitable for evaluating resolvers, encoders with an index, differential encoders and absolute-value transducers (SSI, EnDat) and makes possible control of SCHUNK EGN, EZN and EVG grippers as well as the SCHUNK ERS rotary module.
