The first Demo Day of the year received an overwhelming response at Mumbai Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) in Koparkhairane. Over 500 people visited the demo day. The three-day event witnessed live demos while the visitors saw company’s latest generation CNC machines, VF-2 & ST-35.
The Haas VF-2 CNC vertical machining centre has travels of 762 x 406 x 508 mm in the X, Y and Z axes. The machine uses a 40 taper spindle driven by a 22.4 kW vector drive motor delivering high torque through to a maximum speed of 8100 rpm. The VF-2 boasts a 20-station carousel tool changer and 25.4 m/min rapids on the three main axes.
The Haas ST-35 big bore CNC lathe can accommodate bars up to 102 mm in diameter and offers a capacity of 533 (dia) x 660 mm (length) with 806 mm of swing. The 29.8 kW, 2400 rpm spindle is served by a two-speed gearbox, while additional features include a 381 mm chuck, 12-station bolt-on turret and rigid tapping capability.
The Demo Day also featured company’s industrial partners such as Prime Industries - India’s largest and oldest imported graphite machine shop, SECO Tools, Carl Zeiss, Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Delcam, Tungaloy, Hangsterfers, Renishaw.. Also making its debut in the Demo Day was Haas’ New Generation Controller (NGC).
Inaugurating the event, Mr. Nishikant Ahire, Chairman and Managing Director of Ahire Machine Tools, said, “I am privileged to be here and inaugurating the demo day. I am a very happy Haas customer and since last many years. I have privilege to visit Haas’ factory in the US two years ago and was delighted to see the technology used by Haas to manufacture machines. I am proud owner of 10 Haas machines and would say that my productivity increased by 40% after I started using Haas machines. Not only this, productivity of my other machines also went up after I started using Haas machines.” Earlier, Mr. Terrence Miranda, MD of HFO-Mumbai welcomed the partners and guests.
