Haas Automation, the largest machine tool builder in the western world, has re-invented the machine tool industry’s most user-friendly control. Called as the Next Generation Control (NGC), it has enhanced user interface apart from consistent and intuitive navigation. The layout and screens are well-organised with colours and graphics. It has enhanced and simplified network setup with Wi-Fi availability.
The new standard features in the NGC include 1GB memory, power failure detection module and Ethernet connection. The Dynamic Work Offset (DWO) and Tool Center Point Control (TCPC) on the NGC simplifies multi-axis machining using Haas 4-axis and 5-axis rotary tables. While it eliminates the need for consistency between a CAM setup and the actual machine setup, DWO handles all 3+1 or 3+2 motion while TCPC handles all full 4-axis and 5-axis motion.
The purchased options/features screen on the NGC has all control options consolidated to a single page. Its new features screen is easy to use, navigate through and understand. It also shows the time remaining on all tryout options.
The NGC made its debut in India during the Mumbai Demo Day organized by Phillips Corporation and Mumbai HFO at Koparkhairane. The Demo Day has been receiving an overwhelming response from the current as well as prospective customers of Haas who visited the HFO to get to know about more offerings from Haas.
