HEIDENHAIN Corporation, the world leader in precision measurement components and systems, has an opportunity to view its newest and most impressive products for machine tools at this year’s International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2014 to be held at Chicago. Expected at the HEIDENHAIN booth will also be stages set to share HEIDENHAIN’s well-researched insights about “Dynamic Precision” and “Dynamic Efficiency” as it relates to optimising precise and heavy machining. This includes opportunities to hear from HEIDENHAIN experts during the show about new groups of TNC control functions for enhanced contour accuracy and process reliability.
In short, “Dynamic Precision” stands for HEIDENHAIN control solutions for efficient production of precisely machined work pieces with better surfaces, increased work piece accuracy and reduced machining times. “Dynamic Efficiency” comprises HEIDENHAIN control solutions for heavy machining that optimises machining time, increases the metal removal rate and reduces wear on the machine.
A specific product highlight at the booth will be the TNC 640 control, HEIDENHAIN’s newest high-end milling control with milling/turning capability. The TNC 640 features a new design, improved 3-D program verification graphics and “advanced Dynamic Prediction”, which guarantees calculation of the optimum speed for precise and smooth surfaces.
Also, one of the newest touch probes to be on display will be HEIDENHAIN’s TS 460, the first touch probe that enables the user to transmit the trigger signal either over infrared or radio waves—without having to change the touch probe. This gives the users the benefits of a very wide transmission range (radio) and fast signal transmission (infrared).
