Hurco Companies Inc, announces a further expansion of the dual-column DCX Range.
Designed specifically for large component manufacture, the dual column construction allows the possibility to offer long travels in both X and Y axis, whilst maintaining outstanding rigidity for consistent accuracy. The bridge that carries the Y-axis moving parts, guarantees a very stiff and thermally stable structure.
Additionally, the high-capacity worktable can cater to very heavy components and easy loading by fork-lift or crane.
The 3 axis DCX range already offers 5 model variations ranging in size from the 2200 x 1700 x 750mm travel DCX22i to the 4200 x 2600 x 1100mm travel DCX42i with 16-tonne table loading capacity.
Hurco recently upgraded to a new supplier of the 2 axis head that drives the 5 axis DCX-5Si options and are now able to offer a high-torque HSK A-100 taper, 12,000 RPM option, in addition to the established HSK63-A, 18,000 RPM.
The first model is to be built with the German designed and manufactured 2 axis HSK A-100 head is a DCX32-26-5Si machine, due for completion early 2021. The motion of the rigid, fork arrangement, with torque motor direct-drives, is +/-360° in the rotary C axis and +/-110° in the rotary B axis.
These machines will suit anyone making large components who needs to cut pockets, holes or T slots without moving the part on the table. The simultaneous 5 axis motion will also suit the machining complex 3D shapes, or draft angles, whilst keeping cutter length to a minimum.
