Dr. Tanja Rückert to join Bosch from SAP on July 1
Effective July 1, 2018, the IoT specialist Dr. Tanja Rückert will be joining the Bosch Group. Effective August 1, she will assume the position of president of the Bosch Building Technologies division (2017: sales of 1.9 billion euros, 9,000 associates). Rückert currently heads up the IoT and Digital Supply Chain business unit at SAP SE in Walldorf, Germany. She succeeds Gert van Iperen (63), who will retire on July 31. “I am very happy that Tanja Rueckert is joining Bosch. We will be gaining an internationally recognized specialist in IoT and Industry 4.0. She will drive forward, optimize, and implement our strategy of connectivity in products, systems, and solutions for security, communication, and energy efficiency,” said Dr. Stefan Hartung, whose responsibilities on the Bosch board of management include the Energy and Building Technology business sector. Hartung also praised the work done by her predecessor: “Gert van Iperen is someone who always acts intelligently and pragmatically. With great foresight, he anticipated the impact of connectivity and digitalization on security and building technology. In addition, he made the business with solutions and services in this area continuously more global.”

More than 20 years of international experience in the software world
“In the IoT age, data are becoming a core component of industrial value creation, and software the central nervous system of a highly connected world. I’m greatly looking forward to contributing my experience in both these areas to Bosch,” Rückert said. A mother of two with a PhD in chemistry, Rückert has been with SAP since 1997. She has 20 years of experience as an executive with strategic and operational responsibility in the software industry. She has a wealth of expertise in areas such as digital transformation, the internet of things, connected manufacturing, and connected logistics. During her career at SAP, she worked in Germany and the United States (Silicon Valley), and headed up teams operating across the globe in Palo Alto, Walldorf, Bengaluru, Shanghai, and other locations.
