m&h has announced plans to introduce the extremely compact and innovative IRP40.02 infrared touch probe system for the first time at this year’s AMB. After the successful market launch of the two modular probe systems IRP25.50 and RWP20.50, m&h continues the ongoing technological continuation of its own range of products in 2016.
The m&h IRP40.02 infrared touch probe system meets all requirements for measurement on the machine tool. Its precision mechanics enable the probe to switch extremely precisely and without wear, even under workshop conditions. Challenges including extreme accelerations, high positioning speeds, constant vibrations, hard tool changes, increased temperatures and aggressive coolants pose no problems for this robust touch probe, which continues to operate to its full potential despite being constantly doused with coolant and hit by swarf.
Thanks to its extremely compact and robust design, the IRP40.02 infrared touch probe needs only a very small space on the machine and can also be used for applications in extremely limited spaces. Unprecedented battery life ensures manual interventions are kept to a minimum and do not disrupt the automatic process. Costly machine downtime is also reduced, cutting both process costs and operational expenses.
Also showing at AMB is the latest version of PC-DMIS NC Gage, the specialist software for handling machine-tool probe systems. PC-DMIS NC Gage allows the flexible measuring of arcs, cylinders, cones and many other geometrical forms. The updated version offers revolutionary performance for 3-, 4- or even 5-axis machines.
The software uses the same PTB-certified (Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt, the German national test authority) algorithms that are used for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), offering users complete confidence in their measurements and the quality of the parts produced. For the first time, PC-DMIS NC Gage permits reliable and very precise measurements in modern lathe-milling centres. A range of special functions developed specifically for these machines help simplify operation. For example, the C axes can be aligned entirely automatically, even in unmanned operation, based on grooves, bridges or areas.
PC-DMIS NC Gage can be installed directly on the control, PC or laptop, as well as on tablet PCs, and is available on many machines with controls by Fanuc, Okuma, Mazak or Mitsubishi.
