“The company entered EDM business only in 2014 and started giving effective services and spares/consumable support to customers, we have all product range for tool rooms including CNC WEDM, EDM DRILL, Reusable CNC WEDM & EDMs. We have made our own ZNC EDM machine just two months back. It is a completely indigenous machine with latest ISO BIPULSE DIGISOFT ZNC Controller, the Machine Tool comprising precision ball screw, LM guideways, double door tank and many more useful features. India is a huge EDM market and with Union government’s Make in India initiative, it will grow. We hope to make it big in this business in the years to come,” the General Manager (EDM Division) of Electronica Hi-tech, Mr Pravin Garde said while speaking to CNCTimes during IMTEX 2015.
He said that the company launched this EDM machine at IMTEX and has been well-accepted by the industry because of its looks and features. “Performance of this machine is up to mark and can be judged more precisely once it is used by the industry players. At IMTEX, direct interaction with customers is there which can prove beneficial for the company,” Mr Garde added.
Reacting on the current status of Indian market, he said the market is in good shape and it can definitely double up in five years. “Customers’ needs are increasing while the industrial sectors such as automobile, consumer durables and others are witnessing an upswing. Still there is a scope for improvement and even as manufacturing market is witnessing a slowdown, people are willing to invest in latest technologies,” Mr Garde said.
Asked whether Indian market is price sensitive, the official said, “Not much. People are willing to pay and all they need is good product, support and prompt service. This market is very huge and we have certain expectations from the government like it should reduce the excise duty and try to implement GST as soon as possible.”
“The company’s vision in the next 10 years is very simple. We want to be number one machine tool solution providing company for tool rooms since we have our own EDM, own CNC lathe and drilling machines. We also hope to export our CNC Lathe machines, EDMs and control panel to China and other countries. I think we can achieve this even as technology-wise we are lacking a bit as compared to European machines, however, we hope to match the global expectations. For this all we need is good product and a dedicated workforce. Any company progresses because of the personnel working for it and I hope we will achieve our desired goal,” Mr Garde concluded.
