In India, the company is organised with headquarters in Noida and branch offices at Pune, Chennai, Coimbatore and Bangalore. It was in the year 2001 when Hexagon Metrology India was established and has a wide variety of products such as CMMs, Portable CMMs, Laser Trackers, Blue Light Scanners and Vision Inspection systems. Leading the pack of 55 dynamic sales and service engineers apart from other staff is Mr Anup Verma who is also Managing Director of the company. The company has so far assembled and supplied 200 Bridge type CMM in India. In conversation with CNCTimes on the sidelines of IMTEX 2015, Mr Verma gets candid and talks about the company’s vision and the present market condition in India.
Which products have you launched at IMTEX?
We launched three new products. The first one Tigo which is a shop floor machine which is cost effective as well as has the best quality standards. The other one is Croma, which are machines made for Tier II and III industry sectors and the third product which we launched is a Compact Arm. Tigo & Compact arm are from European factories and Croma is assembled in India.
What are your expectations from IMTEX 2015?
It is a premier show and we never miss it. It is the best platform for prospective as well as existing users to come and view our latest offerings. It is also an interaction point between us and our customers where we meet people and share new ideas.
How is current market scenario in India?
Market is very optimistic. Parameters are good and people are willing to take decisions. With these factors, we can expect a good business environment in the next two years. Besides that technological advancements in products are being well received in the country today and this is positive and encouraging sentiments among buyers.
Is Indian market price sensitive?
Absolutely yes. Indian market is price sensitive and you can’t deny that. In India, price is biggest challenge and we offer products packages accordingly to give good value to our customers.
What is your sales strategy in India?
We have our offices almost everywhere and we are very much organised to cover India. We have regional offices where the team is equipped enough to take decisions as regards sales and service. We also have our partners representing us in certain industrial segments where we do not have direct office.
What is the USP of Hexagon Metrology?
Reliable and wide variety of products having the best quality is our main USP. We have always been focussing on reliability, building trust and above all sustained service which makes us one of the best metrology solutions providing companies in the country.
Five to 10 years down the line, what is company’s vision?
We are one of the strong players in the country and would like to be the number one in whatever we offer. We always look for improvement and our graph has been upward. We would like to continue the way we are catering to this industry. Besides, we aim to be a respectable and reliable company.
