Gripping system solutions for the automation of the future
A robotic hand carefully grips a randomly assembled formation of colorful blocks and then puts it down. Identify, grip, put down. Again and again. What at first glance appears to be a childlike game is actually extremely sophisticated: Tomorrow's robots and handling systems will able to identify and examine objects on their own and ultimately handle them autonomously.
At the Hannover Messe on April 1 - 5, 2019, we will show you the possibilities and opportunities that intelligent gripping system solutions offer for the smart scenarios of industry 4.0 and how digitalization and artificial intelligence enhance handling processes.
Human/Robot Collaboration
Making ergonomically demanding tasks easier is one of the key advantages of human/robot collaboration. While the gripping force of the previously DGUV-certified SCHUNK grippers was limited to 140 N, SCHUNK is now rising to a new league of components at the Hannover Messe, and for the first time will be opening up the potential of human/robot collaboration for handling weights beyond small parts assembly. We look forward to showing you the solution live in Hannover!
Machine Learning
With the help of machine learning, the handling solutions of the future will be able to recognize patterns and derive appropriate responses based on existing databases and algorithms. SCHUNK's smart gripping solutions use data from multiple sensors in order to obtain new information through the use of data correlation, thereby making intelligent decisions. Over the medium and long term, the trend will be towards autonomous gripping.
The automation of production machines
Many production processes can be simplified, automated and linked together into useful processes. SCHUNK components hold a key position here. They enable automated machine loading, as well as high-speed assembly or production process monitoring directly on the workpiece.
