Swiss-based metrology manufacturer TESA has confirmed plans to refocus its business strategy, returning to its core specialisms in hand-held dimensional measurement instruments, coordinate measuring machine probes and sensor technology.
As a result, production and sales of the TESA-SCAN, TESA-VISIO and MICRO-HITE 3D products will cease in the coming months. New orders will be accepted up to 20 April 2015, with sales after this date subject to stock availability. However, all three product lines will remain in support, with servicing and repairs continuing indefinitely.
These discontinuations are part of an ongoing restructuring programme designed to enable TESA to compete more strongly in its key market sectors. The consolidation will also help to mitigate against the impact of global currency fluctuations.
“TESA’s core business and expertise has always been the production of hand tools and innovative probe and sensor technologies,” said Mr Stefan Ruh, Managing Director of TESA. “By focusing on our strengths, we will be better positioned to meet the precision metrology needs of our customer base.”
TESA is part of Hexagon, a leading global provider of information technologies that drive quality and productivity improvements across geospatial and industrial enterprise applications. After 20 April 2015, customers considering the purchase of equipment from the TESA-SCAN, TESA-VISIO or MICRO-HITE 3D ranges are advised to select an alternative from the Hexagon Metrology product portfolio.
