The flattest rotary unit with electric brake For assembly and handling technology
Flat, precise, and with a high compact performance: The versatile, and mechatronic SCHUNK ERT rotary unit allows flexible, and dynamically rotational movements in confined spaces, and is almost wear and maintenance-free. Optionally, the unit is available with a brake, which is actuated via the control unit. This has the advantage that the height of the SCHUNK ERT remains unchanged. This is a novelty on the market and creates excellent prerequisites for the most compact assembly and handling applications in the field of electronics, medical technology, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and solar industry, but also for space-optimized applications in the field of mechanical engineering, laser machining or for packaging processes.
The versatile SCHUNK ERT rotary unit is the flattest rotary unit with electric brake on the market. Due to its freely definable angle of rotation and high torques, the unit is versatile in use in confined spaces.
This unit can be used as a rotary table for components, assembly groups and tools, but also as a rotary unit for gantry solutions, as a rotary indexing tables or as a high-precision positioning module. It is based on a permanently energized torque motor, is equipped with an absolute encoder, and ensures a repeat accuracy of 0.01° without referencing at first go, as well short reaction times and high torques. A generously sized center hole allows cables and hoses to be fed through or the use of a camera.
Numerous variants and options are available
Drive controllers from different manufactures can be used, and therefore the greatest possible flexibility in the control and regulation strategy is ensured since the modules can be seamlessly integrated into already existing system architectures. In the event of a standstill the optionally available unit with a brake reliably fixes its position without changing the height of the unit, even if an external force effects the unit. In the first step this versatile module will be launched in the sizes 12, 50, and 300 with nominal torques of 1.5 Nm, 7.8 Nm, and 32 Nm, outside diameters of 120 mm, 167 mm, and 277 mm as well as maximum admissible mass moments of inertia of 0.07 kgm2, 0.39 kgm2 and 5,53 kgm2 . Supply and actuation are ensured via standard connectors (M12/M17). In a second development stage, optional feed-throughs for feeding through hoses and cables of electric signals, bus signals or fluids will be available, and what is more, dust- and splash-proof versions (IP54).
