Yamazaki Mazak Corporation has launched the vertical machining centre (VMC) VTC-530/20 which is designed for high accuracy, high rigidity, high productivity and ease of operation and also incorporates environmental considerations. The VTC-530/20 was developed based on the VTC-200C which is held in high regard by the world wide metal cutting industry.
This machine features traveling-column construction with a long, fixed table for exceptional machining versatility. Large work pieces that overhang the table can be machined or pallet-changer type operation can be performed. Additionally, the operator can easily access the table from the front of the machine for convenient work piece loading/unloading and machine setup. Even though the VTC-530/20 has a long X-axis stroke of 1950mm, it has extremely compact floor space requirements of only 3980×2990mm. When compared to other machining centres with the same X-axis stroke, the floor space is up to 50% smaller.
It will be produced by Yamazaki Mazak Seiko (Mie-pref) Co Ltd for customers in Japan and other countries in Asia, and will be produced by Ningxia Little Giant Machine Tool (Ningxia) Co Ltd for customers in China.
