Please tell us about the idea behind Amtex? How did it all started?

Actually, Amtex was started in the southern part of India in the year 2000, as there were no any major shows happening in south for the machine tool industry. Today Amtex is happening in Delhi most of the time or in Mumbai. Once Imtex moved to Bengaluru, we changed our track and moved to the northern region.

How is the current market scenario in India and what demands you see?

Its growing, the future looks bright and enthusiastic especially the ‘Make in India’ concept is helping the manufacturers to grow their business. Today we are capable to compete with the best machine tool builders from the European countries and around the world. If you see few years back we had to import all these machines and technologies, however today we ourselves have the capability to produce some of the best world class machines. ‘Make in India’ has really given us the boost, even to the small-scale industries to manufacture and compete with the best in the industry.

What is your mantra behind the success of Amtex?

Right from day one we started exhibiting with 180 stalls and if you see today Amtex has more than 1000 stalls. The key mantra for our success will be the exhibitor’s satisfaction. Edition to edition we always feel that the exhibition has delivered in terms of quality visitors and business inquiries to be generated in the exhibitions. That’s how from the first edition of 180 stalls we have grown to more than 1200 exhibitors this year, this has happen only because whatever has been promised to the participants we have been able to meet those.  Our exhibitors which are associated with us comes back each year with 20 percent increase in their space demands that itself speaks about the success of Amtex.

What are the initiatives taken by Amtex to uplift the Indian Machine Tool Industry?

As we are not an association to uplift any industry, however we not only do exhibitions for machine tool we organize exhibitions on different segments. To uplift the industry there are so many associations which are run by the government. Our basic idea is to create a platform where the buyer and seller meet to take business decision soon and both should be happy at the end of the day. For Amtex also we have participants from all over India and also at least 30 percent of the participants are from the overseas. At the end of the day the show is going on and we see 20 percent growth in every edition of the exhibition. Both exhibitor and visitor are happy to be associated with Amtex.

What will be the key highlights for Amtex 2018?

For this year we have introduced our Business Matchmaking Program- GoConnect. This is an online platform that connects the pre-registered visitors with the exhibitors of the show. In this we have already matched, who so ever has done registration with us we have matched them with the desired exhibitors according to their companies and interest. That means the exhibitors already have the list of potential buyers who are going to be at the show and vice versa. This is the first time we have introduced this kind of system and it is helping the exhibitors to know who is going to visit the show and they can take their appointments prior for efficient time management during the show.

Earlier for promoting and advertising for the show we used to rely on print media. However, today the focus on digital media is so much that we have also diverted ourselves a lot of digital media including brands like CNCTimes and different social media like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. We are utilising all these platforms because nowadays most of the people are using these platforms frequently. Hence, it becomes necessary for us also to change the focus and utilise this mediums for our exhibitions in terms of growth.

What is your message for Exhibitors and visitors participating at Amtex 2018?

The potential is huge in India, and still there is a chance to explore more here. Those people who have not participated, they will really miss Amtex in terms of bringing business from north. If you are looking for business from the north then you have to be a part of Amtex. And for all those exhibitors who have participated in the show, I am sure that they will be going to be very busy for the next 4-5 days with the prospective buyers who are coming to witness the latest technologies. I wish them all the best for their business growth.

Also, I would like to share that we are showcasing all the latest technologies and innovation from the machine tool industry. Hence, I request all the end users to come to the show and witness the latest developments from the industry.

What are your future plans for Reed Triune Exhibitions?

We have lot of plans, as I said the show has grown 20 percent from edition to edition each year and also the number has increased in terms of visitors and exhibitors. Now for this time you will see, we have added three more key segments in our basket one is Q MET which is on Quality Assurance & Metrology, Intertool which is an international brand of exhibition for Power & Hand Tools, then we have Automation & Robotics which we have added and we have added the instrumentation also. These are going to be happening concurrently with Amtex. Our idea is to make this show go forward independently after another 3-4 editions, we want to see the show become independent and we want to do standalone shows in the future.
