While most of the industries in India has been cribbing about the demonetization effect, the Indian cutting tool industry has an opposite view. According to the Indian Cutting Tool manufacturers Association (ICTMA), the bold decision taken by the Indian government had a little effect on the business.
“We don’t see any adverse effect of demonetization on a large scale in India. Only, the two-wheeler automobile industry has been affected heavily. Other industries are doing good compared to the two-wheeler automobile sector,” said Mr. Prashant Sardeshmukh, Director (India) of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation (MMC) while speaking to CNCTimes.com.
“The GDP has gone up to roughly 16% and we predict that it will further grow in the second quarter. Manufacturing units in India are now providing and ready to provide complete solutions to the customers that will further give boost to the manufacturing sector,” Mr. Sardeshmukh said.
He added that the companies want to provide services in India only to cater to the customers in a more easy way.
Asked about MMC’s purpose behind participating in IMTEX 2017, Mr. Sardeshmukh said that it is mandatory for MMC to participate in the show so as to showcase new product solutions. “We received a very good response from the exhibition. We showcased our fasting cutting tool which has high rate of 20,000 mm per minute speed. Also, it is compatible with all other machines,” he added.
Mr. Sardeshmukh opined that in future, MMC will supply tool holding, fixtures and most importantly complete solutions under one roof since the company has set up a high-tech technology centre at Aurangabad.
In a novel initiative, MMC displayed its products through 3D Hologram. The holographic display is a type of display that utilizes light diffraction to create a virtual three-dimensional image of an object. Holographic displays are unique from other forms of 3D imaging in that they do not require the aid of any special glasses or external equipment for a viewer to see the image.
“MMC displayed a total of 13 products in the display. The technology helps the customer to look at the product range from different angles. Also, the super fine details of the products can be seen very easily through naked eye,” Mr. Sardeshmukh said.
The product range which has been showcased at the display are AHX640S, AHX640W, AJX, Apollo Cutter, ARP, AXD, BMR, FMAX, IMX etc. The technology clearly explains the tooling solutions offered by MMC for the manufacturing industry.
